Exhibition Identity, Catalogue Design, Design Strategy

2019

Are you ready for the future of graphic designers? Here they are fresh out of Junior Review at CCA. With this concept in mind we created a identity that would signal that these designers are ready for the real world.

For the exhibition design wanted to take away the traditional white-wall of the gallery and place the exhibit in the real-world. So we decided to “wheat-paste” the posters and other printed matter on the wall as if you were walking down the street and saw wild posting.

We used the visual aesthetics of yellow page phone books (RIP 2018) to create the look and feeling of looking through one to find a designer that you can hire. Additionally, we created a telephone hotline that you would be able to call to find more information about the exhibition.

We decided that poster’s especially on a visually congested area such as a college campus did not draw the attention that we needed. So, we decided to screenprint the a limited run of T-shirts with the poster information and put them all over campus. Instantly people started wonder what the exhibition was and starting tearing down the pos-tees.
